As one of HRP’s longest-serving members, Ethan Westcott has been integral to our team’s growth and development. His deep-rooted knowledge of audio, lighting, and video makes him the go-to expert for many of our clients.
With his dad as an amateur musician, Ethan spent his life surrounded by music. As a young kid, he picked up drumming, quickly followed by guitar, bass, and piano, all skills he has held for over thirty years. He discovered his passion for audio engineering in high school after playing hooky to watch his dad’s band do a recording. A lightbulb went off as he realized it was a perfect way to mix his knack for mechanical problem-solving and his love of music. In 2005, Ethan graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Audio Arts and Acoustics.
Outside of his work at HRP, Ethan takes time to relax outdoors, either boating, fishing, or camping. He has a rich love of history and anything related to airplanes. He has continued playing music when he can find the time.
“I am at my best when I am an artist, and to me, AV is an art at its best when no one realizes anything is being done. When I’m working and seeing the crowd enjoy themselves, I have the satisfaction of knowing the audio experience is better thanks to my efforts.”
